About Clay Vernon
Clay Vernon has a bit of a drawl because he was raised in Kansas. After studying guitar with Clint Tate and percussion with Dean Kranzler, he graduated from Fort Hays State University with a degree in Music Education.
He temporarily lost his drawl when he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. He earned a Master of Music degree in composition and theory from the University of New Mexico.
He moved to Kansas City, MO in 2005 to work for the Sprint-Nextel corporation. Clay left that company to found WellMixed.com, an internet-based audio-engineering company. He now lives in the Waldo area of Kansas City, MO where he produces music for bands, community groups, and commercial enterprises.
